Commissioned by A.J. Coppola to benefit the New Hampshire Master Chorale; premiered at the NHMC Children’s Choral Festival.

When my services as a composer were auctioned off as a fundraiser by the New Hampshire Master Chorale, the high bidder was A.J. Coppola, master music educator and a fine bassoonist to boot. A.J. asked for a good-humored piece in honor of his father, Len Coppola. I wrote this piece for oboe, clarinet, and bassoon, thinking primarily of the familiar motive from Ferde Grofe’s “On the Trail.”
