Piano Monster! was commissioned by Carleen Graff for the Plymouth State University Piano Monster Concert and was premiered at there with the composer conducting.
When my colleague Carleen Graff asked me to write a piece for her biennial Piano Monster Concert, I thought of a musical depiction of a day in the life of this eponymous monster. I think of it as spending some time relaxing to the music of its father, Louis Moreau Gottschalk!
